The nervous system receives information, processes it and coordinates the body's responses.
The central nervous system comprises the brain and spinal cord. From them the peripheral nervous system branches out: twelve pairs of cranial nerves and thirty-one pairs of spinal nerves, which join into plexuses to reach muscles, skin and organs.
