Nerves and muscles

The nerves of the lower limb arising from the lumbar and sacral plexuses, including the femoral and sciatic nerves.
The femoral nerve (L2–L4) supplies the anterior thigh and the obturator nerve the medial thigh. The sciatic nerve (L4–S3), the largest nerve in the body, supplies the posterior thigh and divides above the knee into the tibial and common fibular nerves, which supply the leg and foot.
