The nerves of the trunk shown with the muscles of the chest, back and abdominal wall.

The intercostal muscles are innervated by the intercostal nerves, and the anterolateral abdominal muscles by the lower intercostal, subcostal, iliohypogastric and ilioinguinal nerves. The deep back muscles are supplied by the dorsal rami of the spinal nerves, and the diaphragm by the phrenic nerve (C3–C5).
