Muscles and bones

The bones of the foot: tarsal bones, metatarsals and phalanges.
The seven tarsal bones are the talus, calcaneus, navicular, cuboid and the three cuneiforms, followed by five metatarsals and fourteen phalanges. The bones of the foot form the medial and lateral longitudinal arches and the transverse arch, which distribute body weight and absorb shock during walking.
