The internal organs of the thorax, abdomen and pelvis, shown in their anatomical relations.
The thoracic viscera include the lungs, heart, trachea and oesophagus, while the abdominal and pelvic viscera include the digestive organs, kidneys, bladder and reproductive organs. Most of them are enclosed in serous membranes, the pleura, pericardium and peritoneum, which allow them to move against each other.
