Muscles and bones

The mandible, the only mobile bone of the skull, with its body, rami, condylar and coronoid processes and the lower teeth.
The mandible articulates with the mandibular fossa of the temporal bone at the temporomandibular joint, a synovial joint with an articular disc that allows both hinge and gliding movements. The mandibular canal runs through the bone and carries the inferior alveolar nerve and vessels, which exit at the mental foramen.
