Digestive system
Isolated

The digestive tract and accessory organs within the abdomen, from the oesophagus to the rectum.
Most of the abdominal digestive organs are covered by peritoneum and suspended by mesenteries, which carry their vessels, nerves and lymphatics. The digestive tract is supplied by the coeliac trunk and the superior and inferior mesenteric arteries, and its venous blood drains to the liver through the hepatic portal vein.
